HI all,
Well 1st I have to apologize for the barefootaustralia site being down. No Idea what the problem is but I will send email as often as I can. The story so far can be found on the Barefoot Central Site where Chuck is really giving us some good coverage. Check it out.
Well we are all obviously in Orlando and into the Worlds good and proper. The semi finals for the Juniors have just finished and everyone's has skied up a storm. In the outcome of the Junior Team results, The US has just pipped us by about 24 overall points. We were in clear second with South Africa in 3rd. But there are plenty of Juniors in the finals. Both Nerissa ( PB in tricks) and Ashleigh (3 PB's in all events) are in all 3 finals. WOW. Brendan is in the jump and slalom and only just missed the tricks. Leigh is in the jump final and 2nd seed at the moment. Michael has missed the finals but really skied well. Rob had a real learning curve and the experience for him will help him. Big things will happen on Sunday!! In the overall, both Nerissa and Ashleigh are neck and neck. Brendan is still in with a chance of a 2nd or 3rd. The results on Sunday could well tell the final story.
The Senior's are still finishing the semi's and all the finals will be sorted out tomorrow. Gizzie has already made the slalom final and has the semis for tricks tomorrow. Unfortunately no semi for Jump as she didn't score in the 1st round. A real piece of bad luck but she will bounce back and really shine in the rest of the tournament. We are waiting on scores for the men's slalom to see if we get a finalist. Cameron went in on his backward pass and looks shaky for the final. Tim skied out both passes ok and the waiting game begins. The trick and jump semi's are on tomorrow. Everyone is keyed up for a big finish to the tournament. Cameron has skied well and is in the semi in tricks. Didn't make it in jump though!!! Warren is in the Trick and Jump semi with Tim also in Tricks. Pete Taylor jumped well and entertained both his teammates and the crowd. Skied away ok after a big buster on the 1st jump but did some damage to his rubs. As I write this he is in the background groaning and moaning but he is OK. He is still drinking!!! Found a shop that sells VB!!!!!
On the banks of the lake the Aussies are the noisiest by far. We arte making lots of noise and getting our skiers home. The antics and carry on is purely Australian. Some of the remarks are making the yanks wonder what the hell we are talking about. If there was a supporters shield then we would win by a clear margin.
All of our officials are doing great but look tired after the weather is hot and it is hard work out on the water. Some of us are off
to Ice Hockey tonight to see the Tampa Buccaneers play the Boston Team. Others are in for a quiet night for the semi's tomorrow.
Talk to you all soon.

Kids skied well today, as did the seniors.
Cannons (aka Leigh) skied a pb in jump 22.5m
Ashley tricked a pb 1600 and didn't max out.
Competition has been a bit of a downer, lots of things not prepared, boats not reaching speeds,
etc... Fortunately the water was good today.
Speak to you soon
Cheers.... Bart
