2004 EAME European Championships

When:         August 24-28, 2004
Where:        Wallsee, Austria

We have very little detail information on the European Championships at this time.  But we just received an email from Andy Harris notifying us that the scores are posted on the International Waterski Federation Website.

From looking at the scores, it looks as though David Small, Patrick Wehner and the youngster from South Africa, Heinrich Sams, duked it out for the top spot in the Open division.  If memory serves me correctly, Heinrich is only 14 years old.  Fourteen and slaloming 18 and tricking 6500.  That's insane!

If we get any stories from the Europeans, we'll be sure to post them, but until then, click on the links below to check out all the scores.

HI TO ALL AT BAREFOOT CENTRAL. GREAT WEBSITE!  MYSELF AND HEINRICH VISIT YOUR SITE OFTEN AND REALLY ENJOY IT.  I WOULD JUST LIKE TO BRING IT UNDER YOUR ATTENTION THAT HE IS ONLY 12 YEARS OLD AND THAT WE ARE VERY PROUD OF HIM. HE IS THE YOUNGEST SKIER EVER TO WIN A OPEN EUROPEAN TITLE WINNING THE OPEN TITLE IN SLALOM WITH A SCORE OF 18. HE ALSO SET 3 PENDING JUNIOR WORLD SLALOM RECORDS, SKIED ON THE FINAL DAY IN 2 SEMI FINALS AND 5 FINALS, AND IT WAS JUST A BIt TO MUCH FOR THE YOUNG LAD AS YOU MIGHT HAVE SEEN IN THE FINALS TRICK SCORES. THE ONLY FINAL THAT HE DID NOT SKI IN WAS THE OPEN JUMP FINAL. HE MISSED IT BY ONE PLACE TO FINISH 1ST IN JUNIOR BY MORE THAN A 1000 POINTS OVERALL AND 3RD IN OPEN WAS SOME ACHIEVEMENT FOR SUCH A YOUNG KID .

THANKS FOR THE MENTION ON YOUR GREAT SITE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.  THE BEST FOR ME AS HIS COACH IS THAT HE IS ONLY PERFORMING TO 70% OF HIS POTENTIAL IN TOURNAMENTS .

ALL THE BEST

EUGENE SAM
