The second day of the tournament was quite interesting with Rachel George
jumping the furthest with an 11.2m jump! We’re going to need a larger jump
from Rachel to shorten the gap of the Aussie Gizie! With Gizie’s trick score
being so high she’ll have 1000 points leaving Rachel and the US Team with
only about 600+ points! We’ve got our work cut out for us but neither Brett
New or Ben Greenwell made the Semi’s in the tricks event! The Aussie’s best
slalomer, Pete O’Neill fell on both runs of the Elimination round as well!
Like usual it’ll come down to the Jumping event! It’s nothing new. We’ve
experienced this in the past four to five worlds! Lane and Keith will both
have to step up their tricks as well as the rest of the team in slalom and
tricks.
Ryan Boyd might have just missed the cut with a 15.2 in slalom but
we won’t find out till tomorrow for the official results! The tricks event
was quit sloppy but the pack stayed close which will make the second round
that much more interesting!
The jump event is sure to be a nail biter with the world record holder “Aussie” Brett New capable of huge jumps, but team U.S.A. is prepared
for the challenge and will do their best to stay close in the first round of
jump. The Beast from the East Bill Brzoza will be jumping before Brett New
in the elimination round so he’ll put the pressure on for sure!
All the barefooters gathered around the large screen TV at the Mulwala Waterski Club
to watch the judges view of the skiers in tricks and slalom event later that
evening.Tomorrow Rachel will be slaloming in the morning with Group A Male
Jumpers following that include Keith, Billy, Lane and Mikey that start the
pack off first thing! More updates to come after elimination rounds.
