Another future Australian barefooter is born
North Eton, Australia

February 20, 2008

Hi all

Here's the new addition to our family. Jacqueline Mackenzie was born on Saturday morning at 6:45 weighing in at 8lb 7oz (3950g) and 55cm long. Everything went well apart from the trip to town on Friday which turned out to be the wettest day in Mackay in over 50 years. Our 25 minute trip to Mackay turned into a 4 hour trip and we were very lucky that a Sunwater worker who was checking the dam levels at Kinchant Dam was able to let us through a paddock along the channel and access a road that wasn't totally flooded in. Labour went a little longer than we expected, but when she decided it was time to come it was all over very quickly.

Thanks to all those who have sent messages and well wishes.

All the best
Sharon, Clint, Bronson & Jacqueline

Congratulations to the entire Vievers family.

For those of you who have been wondering what has been going on with our roving reporter from down under, we received an update from him on what's been going on in his life.

G'day Michele & Chuck,

Before I get to telling you what's been keeping me so quiet lately, I must say that I am proud of what you and Chuck are doing. Your new home is to die for and the clips you have been making are unbelievable!! To see that chopper land at your place wowed me. I have loved choppers since I was a boy and used to whatch the old Bell 47 on Skippy in awe. (Skippy was an old Aussie Drama on TV about a boy and his Kangaroo when I was kid) It's my lifes dream to be a chopper pilot and I hope to realize that dream one day along with nailing turns and skiing for Australia in 2010. ( As an official old fart being 35 by then!) Seeing Andre and Keith ski together was great. Andre is a freak for sure and blows me away (how the heck is that sisscors shit...Damnnn!!!) but he is nowhere near as clean and clinical as Keith by a long way from what I can see.

We have had our life pretty much turned upside down here in the last 18 months or so. I guess life goes through ebbs and flows. I'd love to tell you all about it but I'm told quite bluntly here and there that my telling is interpreted like whinging so I dare not risk it. ( But... a blown out knee, serious case of Shingles, mine being scaled down where I worked leading to a transfer and pretty much up ending everything and skiing over fence posts at 75km/hr trying to tear my heels off [John was driving] pretty much sums it up). We have moved from the South east corner of Queensland back closer to the heartland of the real Queensland (up north) where the humidity is scaled on how hard it is to breath in and the people are more country and fair dinkum than the city bred mob down south. Drinking beer up here actually is rehydrating because you sweat so much and the weekly sale is for cattle not shoes!! I will for sure send you some video of the river I now ski on with Ashley Kate. Sandsy reckons it's one of the best spots he's ever seen and I hope to get you both here one day!! The population here is smaller though therefore less footers per capita but I am trying.

I am sorry I have not sent you a photo of me in my new suit. I love it to death but am embarrassed to say that I made a big mistake thinking that super comp shorts would take up any room in the large that I might not fill out. I must be dead set in between a medium and a large. I do still wear it and it does turn heads (not that I like that anyway). Is your masters challenge still going? I have video here but cannot yet get my 2000 point trick run under 15 seconds so I cannot send it in until I do!

Our little boy Bronson is just shy of two years old and does ski already with help and has felt the sensation of barefooting. Sharon my wife is due on Valentines day but if you saw her you would think that they got it wrong....damn she is big! Life is love and I hope you are feeling it, it keeps getting better all the time. It was great to get your email at work the other day so I thought to send it home and reply to it here as my new job is full on. I hope to settle in properly before too long as I would love to start writing some new footing stories for you again. I think I need to join up membership too??

I'm starting to see cross-eyed here as the hour is late so I better stop warbling and hit the hay.

All the best.

Clint Veivers.
