Mastercraft 197
Recommended Options

If you are in the market for a new Mastercraft, we would recommend buying your boat with the following options.  We have found that having these options not only increases the pleasure of owning the boat, but also help maintain resale value should you wish to sell your boat later:

You will find that the Mastercraft comes with more standard options than any other boat.

Must haves:
Barefoot Package - this includes the barefoot plate

The biggest engine you can get your hands on.
The extra horsepower is needed to get this boat into the high 40s with a barefoot plate.  Rule of thumb, figure 10 horsepower for every 1 mph.

Tower
- Towers are the in thing and will give you better re-sale value later.  If you don't choose a tower, opt for a bow lifting ring to allow you to hook the extended pylon cable to it instead of using a strap

If you ski in Hot climates, we recommend:
Bimini top .

If you ski in Cold climates, we recommend:
Heater

Some other nice options to consider
After market options.  Chrome plated instruments, etc...

Side Ballast Tank - You can add the option to have a ballast tank installed on the passenger side wall.  This helps keep the boat level when there is only one person driving with no passenger.  It simulates up to a 180 lb observer.
