BFC BAREFOOT BOAT REVIEW - How We Did It
This review is best viewed by setting your screen display to 1024 x 768.  It will minimize the need to scroll left and right.

The idea for this review came about because we saw a decreasing amount of valuable information surrounding barefoot specific boats, both on the web, and in printed publications.  What little information we did find never seemed to satisfy our expectations or needs.

We get emails all the time asking us questions about what makes a good barefoot boat, what the differences are between the various boat models, and how to set the boats up to maximize their performance.  We also have many pre-owned boats for-sale on our site and many questions come to us wanting to know the differences between older model barefoot boats versus the newer models.

Finally, we saw a need to provide a platform by which the manufacturers could get constructive feedback on their products.   We assembled a team of reviewers that we feel represents a wide range of footing talent, age, and genders.  For more information on the judges click here

We organized our judges into teams of two:
Team 1 - Andrea Eggert & Billy Nichols
Team 2 - Paul Stokes & Andrew Martin
Team 3 - Chuck Gleason & Murray McKinnon
Team 4 - Keith St. Onge & Stuart Singer.

Each team was given a folder containing worksheets (or review sheets) for each boat. Each team had to ski each boat then agree (as a team of two) on what the ratings would be for each individual boat.

Once the teams were complete, we then met as a group to complete an OFFICIAL review sheet for each boat.  Each team was asked to present their findings.  The official score was based on majority rule.  If a tie occurred, each team would state their reasons for their findings and then a re-vote would occur to see if any of the teams wanted to move to create a majority.  In a dead lock, our Ruling Judge (Kyle Fahrenthold) would break the tie.  Kyle had skied all the boats independently of the teams just in case of a tie.  We only had one tie that Kyle had to break, and that was on driver seat comfort.  Click Here to see a short 3 min video of the judges doing the final tally.
