A few years ago, I wrote an article about the different types of shoe skis available to footers.  If you haven't read that article you can check it out by clicking here.

Over the last few years, Paul Stokes and I have skied on every set of barefoot trainers available.  We found that we had likes and dislikes for every shoe ski we tried, but we could never come to an agreement on a pair of shoes that had everything we were looking for.  So for the last year, we have been developing and testing new types of shoes, base materials, and mounting glues & hardware, etc....  Our goal was to create a shoe that would leave no doubt in anyone's mind that it would be the new standard by which all future shoe skis would be measured:

After hundreds of hours of skiing and testing, we have developed two new Barefoot Training Shoe Skis, one for men and one for the lady footers.  To date, noone has offered a shoe with a woman's foot size and shape in mind.

Here is a list of the added benefits for each of these new shoes.  Though other shoe skis may offer some of these benefits, none of them offer them all.

Men's Extreme  Shoe: This shoe should be last pair of shoe skis you'll ever have to buy. These shoes are made of materials that will hold up when they are used in water.  They will not rot, dry out, crack, or tear when you put them on.  A 3mm neoprene Chota water shoe is mounted to a 1/2" lightweight flex rubber sole. Stainless steal mounting hardware is used to prevent any rusting. A rubber toe cap and heel counter provides ultimate foot protection and added durability when doing toe holds. An heavy duty over the arch strap holds the foot in place while specially vented side panels allow water to drain out. You control the tightness of this shoe. If you like your shoes to come off when you fall, just loosen the strap.  If you want them to stay on, just tighten the strap.  The triple glued and blind stitched seams are comfortable and durable. Easy on, easy off design.  The base material is 1/2" thick and is extremely light-weight.  The shoe soles are no more than 1/4" thick.  This shoe puts your foot closer to the water than any other.  Having your foot closer to the water gives you a much better feel for the water.  The thinner base material provides for more flexibility and will mold itself to your foot's arch, creating a more realistic feel of what it's like on your feet.  When you foot backwards, you feel the shoe flex with your foot giving you a more realistic feel of what it's like being on your feet. Our goal is to cut down the time it takes you to transition an advanced trick from the shoes to your feet. We also build them to order and are available in men's sizes 8-12.

Ladie's Pro Shoe: No more having to wear a shoe ski designed for a man. These shoes are designed specifically for women. An air mesh upper allows air to circulate and water to drain quickly, plus they are very stylish. One of the best features is the Quick-Adjust Shocklace system for easy tightening while in and out of the water.  These shoes are made by BodyGlove specifically for water activities.  Shoe sole thickness and base thickness is the same as the Men's Extreme.  This shoe is also built to order and available in women's sizes 6-10.

Here's what Paul Stokes had to say about the shoes the first day he tried them out:

Hey Chuck,
Just got off the water.  I rode the shoe ski's.  Wow, I haven't skied in a long time and it's been a hell of a long time since I've shoe skied.  I did however manage to do some tricks on them. I loved the ease of putting them on, and they skied great.  I could feel the water line just enough.  Any more flex would be too much.  Any less flex and you would loose the "like your feet" affect.  They turned nicely.   All in all I am very satisfied with the performance.  I would put my name on them. I will be spending many hours on them this spring.  I think this will make the difference in the consistency of my toe turns feet-to-feet.  Later, Paul

Now for the best part.  We are offering these shoes at an introductory price of only $95.00 on the first 20 pairs we sell.  Then we'll set the final pricing at $119.99, which is still lower than any other high-end shoe.  Please allow at least 3 weeks for delivery since we build them specific to each skier's shoe size.
