In the past few years, we've seen several advancements in barefoot equipment.
We've seen the ropes we use move from stretchy Poly-E to non-stretch Spectra. We now have
more than one choice when it comes to shoe-skis; and the barefoot suits we buy today come
in all kinds of cool colors and graphics. But what we haven't seen much of is any
new innovations around safety and attempts to reduce the pain associated with the hard
falls we take learning the sport we all love. Pain that is mostly centered in
our necks and upper backs.
Do you get what feels like a pinched nerve between your shoulder blades when you fall
backwards?
After a hard weekend of foot'n, does your pain nearly all week to go away?
Is your neck stiff for days after falling backwards a few times, even when you wear a
neckbrace?
Do you find yourself not trying the more advanced tricks like surface turns because you
are afraid of the pain you'll experience if you catch a heel?
Imagine falling without having to worry about pain the next week. Imagine jumping
without experiencing whiplash when you land. Imagine how much money you would save in
Advil cost alone. If this were all true, would you be more willing to try
new tricks?
Some footers will say. "Wearing a neckbrace makes you look
like a nerd." I tried to take that into account as much as
possible. I noticed the existing neckbraces were made with bright colors,
making them stick out like a sore thumb. So I used white and black.
These colors tend to blend with your barefoot suit more than any others.
And I designed a cool looking logo that I had embroidered on the back. The
older you get, the less concerned you are about looking like a nerd, and the
more concerned you get about being able to wake up without pain. Everyone
figures that out at about age 30.
A plus I didn't count on!
When I began wearing my new design, I discovered something I didn't plan
on. By restricting my side to side movement, I noticed my surface-turns
became cleaner. I wasn't turning my head without turning my shoulders
anymore. This quickly became a great training aid for teaching others
surface turns. You'll also learn turns much faster when your mind isn't on
the pain of falling.
Here's how you put it on.
The Extreme Footer Neckbrace is inserted into the top of your barefoot suit
behind your neck. Then the two velcro straps are overlapped to hold it in
position.
So, do you want want to buy one?
If you're convinced you need to try this great new design, get out your check
book. I'm charging $100.00 plus shipping for these babies. And
if you live in Texas, I'll have to tack tax on top of that.
I'm not mass producing these for two reasons. There aren't enough
footers on the planet to warrant mass production, and most importantly, I want
to offer you a neckbrace custom made to your measurements. $100 is
more than you have to spend on the existing braces, but if you want to save a
few
bucks and take your chances, that's totally up to you.
When I get your order, I'll do my best to get you your brace as quickly as
possible. I make the braces myself, in my free time. I will
make sure to email you when I complete your order so you'll know when to expect
it.
