| My mom and dad decorated and remodeled my room with a barefoot waterski theme. When I’m not skiing I like to hang out in my room. My dad built a dock in my room, on one side I have my bed and on the other side of it I have a hammock. Under the dock I have storage for all my stuff. I
also have a place to do dry land practice while I watch barefoot videos.
But my favorite place is my hammock, I like to lay in it while surfing

I
had a busy ski season 2005 and I have had plenty of time on the water. I
attended many tournaments as well as the US Nationals in Austin. On my last day of school I flew to Dallas for
the BFC summer kick off party. I stay with Chuck, Michelle Gleason, and
their daughter Kathryn when I go to Dallas. I always have a great time
when I visit them. I hate getting up early in the morning, but Chuck
always has us on the water by 6:30 am when the water is smooth.
That makes it all worth it. Chuck worked with me a lot on my turns. I’m very thankful to be a part of
BFC.
In mid July, Chuck invited me back to Dallas to help out at Camp Grady
Spruce. A YMCA camp located on Possum Kingdom Lake. If you
haven't read the Camp Grady Spruce article, you should check by clicking
here. I had such a great time at Camp Grady Spruce
and I hope Chuck invites me back again next year. Maybe I'll get
lucky and my parents will send me there for a week of summer camp.
Camp, ride horses, mountain climb, swim and waterski. That sounds
fun.
I also helped my mom plan our Jr. development clinic.
It was our third time to have it at our lake here in Beaumont, Tx. I enjoy teaching other kids how to barefoot for the first time. It makes it fun when you get to hang out and ski with other kids before the tournament. So if you want to have a good time and ski with some cool people, come down to the Blue
Mile in Beaumont, Tx.
I finished the season by attending Nationals in
Austin, Tx. Nationals is always so much fun because I get to hang
out with all the best footers and my BFC team members. We always
have a great time.

Nolan and his family had to evacuate their home in
Beaumont,Texas due to Hurricane Rita. They were able to
stay with relatives about a hundred miles inland. Despite
the distance from the coast, the winds still blew over many
trees and a couple fell on Chad and Dayna'a cars. The good
news is the family is all OK and their home survived the storm,
which is amazing seeing as though it had to withstand 110mph
winds for over 9 hours. The Loughs have spent the last
month getting their lives back to normal. They had to
literally cut their way back to their house with a chainsaw due
to all the fallen trees.
The schools in Beaumont have just
recently re-opened after being closed for over a month.
Dayna says she is very happy to finally have a working phone and
internet connection. She says it's events like these that
really make you appreciate the little things in life and all the
conveniences we take for granted, like having fast food
restaurants on every corner, gas stations, phones, and
electricity. But luckily, life is starting to get back to
normal in Beaumont. And I'm sure Nolan's glad to be back
in his dream room and looking forward to next summer. |
