Chuck,
I'd
like to nominate a true ambassador to our sport as barefooter of the
month. His name is Ben Hough, he's 66, he's from Northern Illinois, and
here's why:
A few years ago I met Ben at the WI/ILL state tournament. I'm always
impressed by the skiers that stick around our sport as long as Ben has,
considering the pounding our bodies take.
Ben, at the young age of 66, still takes his barefooting quite
seriously. He's recently resurrected his long line back deeps and is
venturing into backwards wake crossing. He performs tumbleturns, toe
holds and one foots with ease, and is a constant inspiration to all.
Most of all, I'd like to nominate him not for his will or talents, but
for his desire to encourage and assist the youngsters. He's a selfless
man who is always there to give a positive word or pat on the back to
the young skiers who are so vital to our sport.
For these reasons and others I'm sure I've missed, I'd like to nominate
Ben for footer of the month.
Thanks!
Ken Kaestner
Ken: Thanks for taking the time
to nominate Ben. He sounds like a great guy and a great
inspiration for others. Another great potential BFC Footer of the
Year.
