Team Numbers to be
selected:
This
year, we plan to assign team numbers. They will be selected from
1-16 and will be assigned in the order teams sign up. As each team
signs up, the owner will be notified of which numbers are still
available to choose from. Your team number will also coincide with
the channel on your radio, if you choose to utilize the new Headzone
Helmets.

How it works:
Depending on which Class you are
participating in will determine who many races you'll need to ski in to
compete for the Championship
Each team will be required to compete
in 4 races. The total points of each team's
will equal
that team's Total Cup Series point count. The team with the
highest points at the end of the year wins the prize pot.
The winning team will get
their names engraved on the BarefootCentral.com Racing Cup Trophy. Each winning team will then get to keep the trophy in their possession until the next
champion is crowned (similar
to the Stanley cup in NHL). Our goal is to make the cup the
most valued award that each team strives for each year. Having
your team's names inscribed on the cup for all to see year after year.
NEW Point System
for 2006:
We have modified the point
system for 2006 to make the competition even more competitive across the
entire season.
|
2006 Points System |
|
1st Place =
10 pts
2nd Place = 8 pts
3rd Place = 7 pts
4th Place = 6 pts
5th Place = 5 pts
6th Place = 4 pts
Bullets:
4 Races for Cup Points
All races score evenly
No Bonus Points
6th Place is the minimum score |
The RACING RULES for 2006:
- Each team must name 6 skiers to their Cup Series Team. They can only draw from these six skiers for each race.
- Each team can
utilize a maximum of one (1) "WILDCARD" skier per race
as long as the skier is chosen from the BFC Cup Series Wildcard
Skier list. If we find out that any skier
if forced to sit out on purpose to allow a team to bring in a
"Wildcard", the team will be disqualified. The spirit of
the Wildcard is to give the teams the flexibility to race if
something happens that prevents 2 or 3 of their original named 6
from attending an event.
- Each team
can only start each member of their six man roster in a maximum of 2
Cup Series Races. A race is defined as any race that counts for
points in the Cup Series. A Wildcard Skier is eligible to be a
starter. If all members attending a race have already started
2 races, all the team member's names will be thrown in a hat and the
starter will be drawn randomly.
- Starters
must be selected by each team in advance and
written on a piece a paper, which will then be placed in a sealed
envelope at the time the team is registered for the race.
Envelopes will be opened and starters announced at the Friday Night
Skiers Meeting. At two day events, the starter for day 2 will be
required to be named (via sealed envelope) at a pre-determined time
the night before the race the next day. If teams fail to
submit a name, the names will be drawn randomly from the eligible
starters of that team. At events where two races are run in
the same day, Starters for both heats will be required to be named
at the Friday night skiers meeting. Teams that can not attend
the meeting due to travel restrictions will be required to call
their starters in. If a starter is not named or called in, the
race officials will draw that team's starter randomly from the
eligible skiers competing in that event, including any wildcard
skiers.
- Wildcard skiers can only be drawn from available Wildcard skiers published on BarefootCentral.com's Wildcard
Skier Listing. Any skier not named to a Cup Series Team can sign up as a Wildcard Skier.

More Rules:
- Each team must pay the local entry fees to
participate in each race and abide by the rules of each race, no
matter how crazy they may be. We will be doing our best to
work with local organizers to convince them to run their events
utilizing the rules that we have approved for the Cup Series.
The organizers that are unwilling to consider adopting the
standardized rules will run the risk of being eliminated from the
Cup Series in future years.
- Your team points are determined by the position you
place in each race, irrelevant of who you're racing against.
For instance, if your team is the only Cup Series team racing in the
Grand Rapids race, and you place 4th, you will be awarded 2 pts.
- Your team must use the same name in every race (i.e. The Breakfast Boys, Team Barefoot
Central, etc...)
- The cash prize money will be paid to the team owner
or person that enters the team into the Cup Series. How
the money is dispersed to the team members is to be determined by
each team independently.
- If your team is not competing in a particular race,
the 6 pre-determined individual skiers from your team may still choose to ski in
those races as long as it's not for another Cup Series team.
- If a team uses a Wildcard Skier, that skier can
still ski for any team, including another Cup Series team in any
other race. Wildcard Skiers are Free Agents and not tied to
any one team. Any arrangements a team makes with a Wildcard
Skier is between the team and the skier.
- All entry fees are non-refundable. Once
you're in, there is no quitting. You must play to WIN.
- NEW RULE: If for any
reason a member of a Cup Series team becomes injured and can not ski
the balance of the season, or decides to stop skiing for personal
hardship reasons, the team they are skiing for will have the option
to replace that skier with any skier from the Wildcard Skier
list. Before doing so, the team captain must notify us by
email to inform us of the circumstances. The skier that is
leaving the team will not be permitted to ski in any race (Cup
Series or non-Cup Series) for the balance of the season. If
they do, the team will be disqualified from the Series.
