Who Will Get Noticed in 2006?
Cup Series team can draw Wildcard skiers only from this list.  
Each Cup Series team is allowed to use a maximum of 1 Wildcard skier in each race.

The following skiers have identified themselves as being willing to ski for any Cup Series Teams during the 2006 season:

Wildcard Eligibility & Rules Governing Use of Wildcards

The purpose of the Wildcard Skiers list is to give the Cup Series Teams an option of substituting 1 (One) member of their team if for any reason they are unable to get enough core team members to a particular race.  It  also serves the purpose of preventing teams from pulling in last minute "Ringers" that nobody knows about.  Establishing the Wildcard list gives skiers that have an interest in racing, but do not have a team, the opportunity to possibly ski with a Pro Level team for a day, and possibly make a name for themselves in barefoot racing.  We are always looking for talented skiers.  

We require Cup Series teams to utilize the Wildcard list to fill empty slots because these are the skiers that have stepped forward and announced they want to be a part of this new sport.  It is assumed they are training and waiting on the call.

Due to the fact that we do not want to prevent skiers from participating, but at the same time, we want to avoid last minute additions, we have decided to modify the Wildcard Skier rules as follows:

We will allow skiers to add their names anytime, but any skiers that add there names after the Sept 1 deadline each year will  not be able to be eligible to ski until the 2nd race after the day they sign up.  So for instance, if someone signs up on October 1, and the next race is St. Louis on Oct 8, and the race after that is Nashville on Oct 28, they would not be eligible as an active Wildcard skier until the Nashville race.  It will prevent last minute ringers but still allows for newcomers to get involved.  All of the Cup Series teams agree that this new method is fair to all, so we are implementing it immediately.
