Frequently Asked Questions
New Page 1
How long does it take
to set up the Aqua Deck?
It takes about one hour to set
up the Aqua Deck for the first time, quicker if there are
several people to help or if you've stored the trampoline
fully assembled.
How do you inflate the
Aqua Deck tube?
We highly recommend using an
industrial inflator / deflator like the Hurricane blower.
With this blower, it only takes about 10 minutes to inflate
the Aqua Deck tube, depending on the tube size. Using the
air output side of a shop vacuum is also an effective way of
swiftly inflating the tube, since shop vacuums typically
have high air flow rates.
Can I use an Air
Compressor to inflate the tube?
We do not recommend the use of
an air compressor as over inflation can damage the tube.
RAVE's commercial grade products are fully inflated with
only 1-2 PSI of air pressure. The high pressure output of
most air compressors can easily cause over inflation if not
monitored properly during the inflation process. If a
compressor is used, be sure not to exceed 2 PSI within the
tube.
How do you deflate the
Aqua Deck tube?
Again, you can use the RAVE
Sports Hurricane inflator / deflator or a shop vacuum,
positioned in reverse, to swiftly deflate the tube. Another
option is to lock the valve open on the tube and let the air
naturally flow out of the large opening of the valve.
What is the tube made
of?
The tube
material is the same high-grade material used in many
ocean-going inflatables and inflatable military boats. It's
a 1000 Denier Polyester with 22 oz. UV treated PVC. All
seams are heat-welded for maximum strength and doubled at
key stress points. We don not use natural rubber or natural
rubber latex in any of our products. Therefore, people with
allergic reactions to latex should not have any problems
using our products.
Can the Aqua Deck be
used in salt water?
Yes, the Aqua Deck can be used
in the ocean and other salt water locations. In addition to
the UV-treated material, the Aqua Deck's springs, V-rings
and tramp frame are made from heavy gauge, hot dipped
galvanized steel. Because of the salt-water environment,
springs may need to be replaced more frequently. Stainless
steel components are also used where practical.
Will the Aqua Deck fade
in the sun?
The tube will retain its brilliance for years because UV
inhibitors are specially blended into the chemistry of our
PVC materials. We also recommend using 303 as a secondary
topical agent (like sunscreen for your skin) to prevent
fading and degradation. 303 also restores lost color and
luster, making your Aqua Deck vinyl look like new. Periodic
(monthly) application of 303 protectant will provide the
best results.
Can the Aqua Deck be
left out in the water?
Most people leave their Aqua
Deck in the water for the season. There are two things to
consider: 1) your local regulations regarding anchoring and
2) if the area is consistently exposed to high winds. In
those parts of the world where the water never freezes, the
Aqua Deck can be left in all year.
How deep does the water
need to be to use the Aqua Deck?
You should anchor your Aqua Deck
in at least 10 feet of water in an area at least 30 feet
from any docks, boats or other obstructions.
How do you anchor the
Aqua Deck?
Sufficient anchoring methods will vary depending on your
local conditions (ex. Water depth, type of water bottom,
exposure to high winds or water current, etc.). Please
consult with local authorities (ie. Dock and lift
dealerships, marinas or your local water enforcement
officials) to understand proven anchoring methods or
anchoring restrictions in your area. A heavy duty harness is
included with your Aqua Deck. The anchoring method you
select should attach to the swivel ring on this harness.
Tips for Anchoring:
-
We recommend using a shock
cord as a part of the anchor line to help absorb
vertical movements of the Aqua Deck due to waves and
normal use.
-
Choose a location most
protected from wind and water currents.
-
A minimum of 60 lbs. of
anchor weight is recommended for most applications.
However, Aqua Decks on larger bodies of water may
require more.
-
Bell anchors are not
recommended since they are easily dragged, especially on
firm bottoms. Multiple foundation blocks are commonly
used on soft bottoms. Screw-type or more permanent
toggle-style anchors are typically used in more extreme
conditions.
-
Recommendations for anchor
line length can be found in your owner manual.
How do you transport
the Aqua Deck on the land and water?
You should enlist two or three
people to help you lift and carry the Aqua Deck from land to
water, and four to five people for the largest Aqua Deck.
DO NOT DRAG. RAVE doesn't recommend towing
the Aqua Deck on the water, although it can be transported
at very low speeds.
Can the Aqua Deck be used as a land trampoline?
The Aqua Deck was not designed
for use on land. Like any inflatable product, the Aqua Deck
tube should not be exposed to rough edges or sharp objects
like rocks and sticks.
How high can you bounce on the Aqua Deck?
The bounce height depends on the
firmness of tube inflation and weight and strength of the
bouncer. It won't perform exactly like a land trampoline
because the water and inflated tube absorb some of the
bounce. The trampoline surface is designed so you won't hit
the water below, even with really big bounces. Some water
may splash up, however, from the wave action caused by the
tube.
Can you bounce higher on the Aqua Deck or Aqua Jump?
The Aqua Deck and Aqua Jump
bounce performance is about the same, but the Aqua Jump will
accommodate more users.
Do you need a permit for the Aqua Deck?
Most areas do not require any
special permits, however, you should check with your local
authorities or DNR to determine permit requirements in your
area.
How do you repair the Aqua Deck?
You can locate a leak in an
inflated product by spraying the tube with soapy water. When
you find the leak and determine the size of the hole, use a
patch from the repair kit and cut a swatch 1 inch wider than
the hole. Deflate the product and clean the area around the
hole with rubbing alcohol. Apply glue from the repair kit to
the patch and the area around the hole. Let the glue dry
approximately 2 minutes until it becomes tacky. Stick the
glued parts to each other and rub them together using a
hard, smooth, flat surface. Let the patch dry for at least
24 hours before inflating. For bigger holes and tears,
follow the same procedure but put a patch on the inside as
well as the outside.
What is the warranty on the Aqua Deck?
The Aqua Deck is covered by a
new lifetime warranty, while the light weight Asian produced
products like consumer towables and o-zones remain with the
one year warranty.
How do you maintain and store the Aqua Deck?
To store the Aqua Deck, you
should first clean the entire inflatable with soap and water
or other mild cleansers. Do not use petroleum based or
vegetable oil based cleaners. After the tube dries, deflate
the tube. Roll the tube loosely and place in a vented
container. (A large plastic storage container (Rubbermaid or
a similar brand) works well to store the tube and keep safe
from rodents). Some people prefer to keep the trampoline
frame intact and lean it against a wall instead of taking
all the pieces apart.
How is the Aqua Deck different from the Aqua Jump?
The Aqua Deck and the Aqua Jump
are all made from the same high-quality materials using many
of the same components. There are a few differences,
however:
-
The Aqua Deck is square,
smaller and sits lower to the water. Because of its
size, the Aqua Deck may be perceived as less
visually intrusive on the water than the larger Aqua
Jump units. The Aqua Deck is a nice replacement to
the traditional hard, 10' x 10' swim raft.
-
Because of its smaller
size, the Aqua Deck is more portable and quicker to
set up and take down.
-
You cannot attach the
Aqua Launch to the Aqua Deck. This attachment only
works with the Aqua Jump. The Slidewalk will attach
to the Aqua Deck as well as the Aqua Jump. If you
want a Slide or a Log attachment, then you must
order the version specifically designed to be used
on the Aqua Deck.
With one chamber, will the Aqua Deck sink if it gets a
hole?The Aqua
Deck will not sink if the tube is punctured. Enough air
accumulates in the tube to keep the Aqua Deck components
afloat. A single air chamber also provides even distribution
of the air around the full perimeter of the product, even if
air pressure gets low.
Does RAVE sell covers for the Aqua Decks?
Yes. Covers are available for
the Aqua Deck, Aqua Deck 15, Aqua Deck 20, and Aqua Deck 25
products. Please see you local RAVE dealer for more
information or visit our accessories website.
What can I do to keep my product safe from muskrats,
mice and other rodents?
Rodents like muskrats may be
attracted to the PVC vinyl of our product. When your tube is
on the water, maintaining full air pressure during periods
of non-use usually prevents them from being able to get a
hold of the vinyl to chew on it. However, the best way to
solve the problem of nuisance rodents is to remove the
temptation by taking the product out of the water at night.
Another option is to make the whole area unattractive to
rodents by changing the environment, eliminating food
sources along the shoreline and making the area less
hospitable to their inhabitance.

How long does it take
to set up the Aqua Jump?
It takes one to two hours to set
up the Aqua Jump for the first time, quicker if there are
several people to help or if you've done it before. This
time can also be reduced significantly if the trampoline
surface is left assembled during storage and only the tube
needs to be inflated for subsequent set ups. On our
spring-less (Bongo™ and O-Zone™) products, setup time is
only a couple minutes. Without springs or bars, the Bongo
and O-Zone products simply require inflating the tube.
How do you inflate the
Aqua Jump tube?
We highly recommend using an
industrial inflator / deflator like the RAVE Hurricane
Blower. With this blower, it only takes about 10 to 20
minutes to inflate the Aqua Jump tube, depending on the tube
size. Using the air output side of a shop vacuum is also an
effective way of swiftly inflating the tube, since shop
vacuums typically have high air flow rates.
If a

Protectant as a secondary topical agent (like sunscreen for
your skin) to prevent fading and degradation. 303 also
restores lost color and luster, making your Aqua Jump vinyl
look like new. Periodic (monthly) application of 303
protectant will provide the best results.

How long does it
take to set up the Water Whoosh?
It takes approximately 30
minutes to set up the Water Whoosh for the first time.
This time can be reduced to about 10 minutes if the
slide cover is left on during storage and you gain more
experience setting it up.
How do you inflate
the Water Whoosh tube?
We highly recommend using an
industrial inflator / deflator like the RAVE Hurricane
Blower. With this blower, it only takes about 5 minutes
to inflate the Water Whoosh tube. You can order this
high volume inflator / deflator directly from RAVE
Sports by calling 800-659-0790. Using the air output
side of a shop vacuum is also an effective way of
swiftly inflating the tube, since shop vacuums typically
have high air flow rates.
Can I use an air
compressor to inflate the product?
We do not recommend the use
of an air compressor as over inflation can damage the
tube. RAVE's commercial grade products are fully
inflated with only 1-2 PSI of air pressure. The high
pressure output of most air compressors can easily cause
over inflation if not monitored properly during the
inflation process. If a compressor is used, be sure not
to exceed 2 PSI within the tube.
How do you deflate
the Water Whoosh?
Again, you can use the RAVE
Sports Hurricane inflator / deflator or a shop vacuum,
positioned in reverse, to swiftly deflate the tube.
Another option is to lock the valve open on the tube and
let the air naturally flow out of the large opening of
the valve.
What is the product
made of?
The inflatable material is the same high-grade material
used in many ocean-going inflatables and inflatable
military boats. It's a 1000 Denier Polyester with 28 oz.
UV treated PVC. All seams are heat-welded for maximum
strength and doubled at key stress points. We don not
use natural rubber or natural rubber latex in any of our
products. Therefore, people with allergic reactions to
latex should not have any problems using our products.
Can the Water
Whoosh be used in salt water?
Yes, it can be used in the
ocean and other salt water bodies as there are almost no
metal components on the product and they are all made of
stainless steel to provide maximum resistance to
corrosion.
Will the Water
Whoosh fade in the sun?
The tube will retain its
brilliance for years because UV inhibitors are specially
blended into the chemistry of our PVC materials. We also
recommend using 303 Aerospace Protectant as a secondary
topical agent (like sunscreen for your skin) to prevent
fading and degradation. 303 also restores lost color and
luster, making your product look like new. Periodic
(monthly) application of 303 Protectant will provide the
best results.
Can the Water
Whoosh be left out in the water?
Most people leave their
product in the water for the season. There are two
things to consider: 1) your local regulations regarding
anchoring and 2) if the area is consistently exposed to
high winds. In those parts of the world where the water
never freezes, the Whoosh can be left in all year.
Specific anchoring recommendations are provided in the
owner manual.
How deep does the
water need to be to use the Water Whoosh?
We recommend anchoring the
product in at least 8 feet of water in an area at least 20
feet from any docks, boats or other obstructions. Use
reasonable care to ensure that there is adequate clearance
free of obstructions above, around and below the product. Do
not allow the Whoosh to be used on land, in pools or on any
other hard surface.
How do you anchor
the Water Whoosh?
Sufficient anchoring methods
will vary depending on your local conditions (ex. Water
depth, type of water bottom, exposure to high winds or water
current, etc.). Please consult with local authorities (ie.
Dock and lift dealerships, marinas or your local water
enforcement officials) to inquire about proven anchoring
methods or anchoring restrictions in your area. For day use
anchoring, a RAVE Sports sand anchor bag works well ( call
800-659-0790 for more information). For seasonal anchoring,
we recommend approx. 60lbs of anchor weight. A primary
anchor attachment ring is located on the underside of the
slide and a secondary anchoring ring is located towards the
climbing side to help maintain product orientation relative
to the shoreline.
How can you make
your slide more slippery?
Before sliding down the slide
for the first time, treat the slide surface using 303. This
will make the vinyl very slippery even when dry. For better
results, splash some water on the surface of the slide
periodically.
How many people can
use the Water Whoosh at a time?
We recommend only one person
climbing and one person sliding at a time. This will prevent
overcrowding and decrease any chance for collision of users.
Supervised activity on the product is highly recommended. Do
not allow anyone to jump or dive off the top of the slide.
Does it attach to my
Aqua Jump or other jump platform products?
Although the Water Whoosh was
originally designed to be used in a stand-alone application,
it can be butted up next to most any jump platform product.
Can the
Water Whoosh be repaired on site?
Yes, Locate the leak or
puncture in the product by spraying the tube with soapy
water. When you find the leak and determine the hole size,
use a patch from the repair kit and cut a swatch 1 inch
wider than the hole. Deflate the product and clean the area
around the hole with rubbing alcohol. Apply glue from the
repair kit to the patch and the area around the hole. Let
the glue dry approximately 2 minutes until it becomes tacky.
Stick the glued parts to each other and rub them together
using a hard, smooth, flat surface. Let the patch dry for at
least 24 hours before inflating. For bigger holes and tears,
follow the same procedure but put a patch on the inside as
well as the outside.\
What is the warranty
on the Water Whoosh?
RAVE offers a one year
warranty defects in material or workmanship. If the product
is being used commercially, like at a camp or resort, there
is a 6-month warranty. |
