Evert in his first round, second jump, against Ron Scarpa seemed at first to hurt his knee. It looked as if his foot caught and tore his knee backwards. That is what happened but since this guy has knees like oversized coconuts the opposite foot went forward which caused him to do the splits. He ended up pulling his ham string badly!

Patrick has the most interesting story. Patrick has been nursing a bad knee back to health and it came to bother him again at the wrong time. On his first run in the semi finals against David Small he scored an awesome 40.8. Unfortunately, at the end of his pass he was attempting a line three when his foot caught sideways. David comes in doing a great pass but only scoring 39.61. So, Patrick moves on if he wants to! Patrick was swum to shore by the pick-up boat. Everyone thought he was going to forfeit the tournament so he didn’t have much to say. David thought that he was going forward along with everyone else. Ron and David started talking to the press and T.V. camera’s about the fight for first in their head to head match off. Patrick asked the tournament officials, "If I get up and ski but don’t jump I’d take second place, correct?" The comment was slow to come but was yes. As Ron and David had already left in the boat for the finals Patrick was stuck taking third or should we say second or could’ve been first?? Patrick being the sport that he is said, "Let the show go on and lets see a great match!" When the TV stations are there we have to realize that it is a show and we have to do our best to give them what they want for the future of our sport!
