Action Watersports Clinic, Grand Rapids, MI
Stories from the Road by Keith St. Onge

When:        June 28 - July 2
Where:       Grand Rapids, MI
Organizer:  Action Watersports and Scott Lockwood
Lake:          Sand Pit off the Grand River and the Thornapple River

This is my third year doing a clinic with Action Watersports. Action is the MasterCraft dealership that has received the Presidents award two years in a row. This is the most prestigious award MasterCraft offers throughout the year, which compliments the best dealer in the country. Action is known for their number one customer service throughout the Midwest. Action flies me up, gives me a place to stay, a boat, and enough students to last the whole day! This year we actually had a waiting list of six students so hopefully this clinic will continue to grow in the future.

I must give dubs up to my boys that have been coming to the Action clinic for three years straight! These guys come every year and not only learn tons but have as much fun as possible in the boat! “Big Bear Chase!” Just watch Summer Vacation to understand that one liner!  Bill “St.” Ellis, Jon Audia, Jason Sasnowski, Jason and his father in-law. If I forgot anyone please send some pictures and your own stories about the clinic to cg@barefootcentral.com.

I want to thank all the students that participate in the Action Watersports clinic because I always enjoy helping ya’ll out! I see new faces every year along with everyone learning something before they leave. My regular students always have what we worked on the year before nailed down by the time I get back. This year I left them with turns on the shoe skies so things will start getting a little difficult now!

On Wednesday I headed over to Scott Lockwood’s where he had more of a private clinic with mostly his ski buddies. I don’t mind that at all because it takes some stress off me as well as giving me a chance to ski with out rushing.  Also, it gives the footers a little more water time without rushing themselves. Jon Coretti and Bill Lee where involved in the clinic on the Thornapple River, which is always smooth with hardly any boats on it. I should say that there are many boats on the river but nobody skies during the week! Thanks for having me up in the Midwest!
