CODY HELLER
from Alma Center, Wisconsin
was selected as the

November 2005

Dear Chuck,

I would like to nominate Cody Heller as Barefooter of the Month because he is so dedicated to this sport. Most of the time his little sisters, Elaine & Shannon, take the spotlight due to their young ages and their awesome performances at the tournaments but there is one more member to the family that is an outstanding barefooter. Cody trains everyday, all year round, no matter what the weather condition is. If he's not on the water, he's thinking about being on the water. He has his heart in this sport more than any other barefooter I've met.

I don't know where he finds the time to do all of his barefooting with being a full time student at UW-Madison and working at the farm full time during the summer and part time in the winter. He's constantly on the move going from one state to the next all year long. He competes in 3-event, figure 8 and new to this year, barefoot racing.

Sometimes I have to wonder what I got myself into by dating him but when I see the look he gets in his eyes when he is talking about barefooting to complete strangers you can see he's so passionate about the sport and he loves it more than anything. I don't think we can go anywhere without him telling someone about barefooting.

Cody has come so far in the last 2 in a half years. He's learned new tricks, like front to backs and jumping and he's learned how to prepare himself for figure 8's and racing. He's placed high in competitions and has brought home many awards. He's constantly trying to make himself better in this crazy sport. I'm really proud of him and so is his family.

Sincerely,
Majesta L. Powell

Majesta:

I couldn't agree with you more.  I've been watching Cody closely this year.  I always have my eyes open for skiers that show great poise, great sportsmanship, and a deep love for the sport.  Finding a skier that is all that and so into all aspects of barefooting (3-event, Fig-8, and Racing) like Cody is, is rare.  He's made a solid name for himself in Figure-8 and especially barefoot racing.  And he's working on the 3-event side.  His "Never Say Die" attitude is perfect for racing and Figure-8.  He impressed me enough to invite him to join Team Barefoot Central's 2006 Racing Team.  His positive attitude, dedication, commitment to training, and flat out skiing ability will fit right into our team.  We'll be proud to win the 2006 Cup Series Trophy with Cody on our team.  He'll surely be a big part of our race for the Cup in 2006.

PS:  Congratulations on your engagement.  Be sure to register at BarefootCentral.com and Tractor Supply.

Congratulations Cody!!  You deserve the recognition.  You're now eligible to be voted 2005 Footer of the Year.  The big question will be: Will your dad vote for himself (see April 2005 FOM) or you.  haha  CG
